How proud and lucky you should feel in having set the Alpinghi-Althing , the world's oldest existing Parliament! It evinces the wisdom and sageness of Icelanders however history of the Nation's independence evolved through vicissitudes viz. Danish, Irish, British, Scandinavian etc. domination and the unique-in-the world- "cod wars", valiantly fought by your forefathers against the perfidious Albion.
Now that various violent occupations of foreign powers including at the last that of the US ended, Iceland-Althing are at present independent, and enjoys since 1944, the liberty to make their own decisions, freely.
What astonished me, however, is the news that you as free Alpinghi members will consider soon the so-called "genocide" of Armenians allegedly committed by the Ottoman Empire-which, in a relatively poor township mentality the US-Californian local parliament's unlearned, jejune members transformed the name into a non-existed "Turkish Ottoman Empire", a few days ago. It was apparent that the draft resolution to that effect in Calif. had been prepared by the Armenian "genocide" addicted fanatic diaspora Armenians, and presented it to the initiators of the County Parliament, for the rest to be done!.
I haven't heard of what qualifies the personality of Ms Margrét Tryggvadóttir, an MP from the Movement Party of Icelandic Althing, who tabled the motion together with some of her collegues.
Yet it is my hope and wish that the text she presented is not a ready made proposal tailored "a la Islande" by the rich and imposing Armenian "genocide" sicks and seekers in the country and elswhere.
I should underline the following facts bringing them to the attention of Ms Margrét Tryggvadóttir, her collegues and to the rest of the Alpinghi members:
1)The "genocide" allegations have no sound foundation and credible proofs. Many of the documents presented as evidences are false( e.g. the grossly exaggerated number of Armenian victims, falcified documents e.g Talat Pasa Telegrammes, Veraschegin's tableau of Apotheosis to War, falcified Lepsius documents, existence of gas chambers for Armenians at northern Turkish city-Trabzon( Prof! Tessa Hofmann), even non-existent people and documents e.g. Morgenthau's Armenian secretaries' invention of a never-born Naim Bey and his Memoires etc. etc.)
What is being played by the Armenian Diaspora for the last 60 years all over the world is , in the words of Swiss Politician Guillaume-Albert Houriet, is " cinema", with an inhuman scenario.
2) The sad Armenian and Ottoman Tragedy in the year 1915 doesn't qualify for "genocide" as defined by the Convention on the Genocide Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide(GPPCG).
The " intent" to destroy, is not there. Claims for the opposite are baseless, cannot be credibly proven.
3) You should remember, and thus must not serve the untruth, self- qualifying thereby as instruments of ill psychologies seeking survival through masoshistic feeling of being genocided.
4)You should not forget that niether you Alpinghi members , any other parliament in the world nor the non -profit organsations such as International Centre for Transitional Justice are authorised for deciding the occurrence of genocide, in any country.
The only Institution with such an authority is International Court of Justice(ICJ) as stipulated bythe Convention's article 9 of the GPPCG.
And let the Historians write about them.
5)Please read well,before falling victim to Ms Margrét Tryggvadóttir's unscrupuluos proposal, ICJ's Judgement in Bosnian Genocide Case draw some legal consquences from that very important decision on "genocide".
